7 Tips for Making 2014 the Best Year of Your Life
2014 should be the year that all your hard work pays off. You should wake up every day in 2014 feeling excited and confident that this is the year that all you have been working towards gets accomplished. This is the year that you are going to commit to your dream and start making strides towards achieving those dreams. Here are some tips to help you make this year the best year of your life.
1. Get Up and Get Going
Mornings are the best time to set your intentions for the rest of the day. When we wake up in the morning it is important that we set powerful intentions which will keep us focused on our goals for the rest of the day. If you are anything like me and use an alarm clock to wake up, most of the times I would hit the snooze button to get just to get a few more minutes of sleep.
Unfortunately, this mentality could set us up for procrastinating throughout the rest of the day. If we start the day by pushing off the most important thing which is to wake up and get moving we could be setting ourselves up for failure. When we constantly push off times to wake up in the morning our subconscious mind picks up on this pattern which then becomes a habit. How you do anything is how you do everything.
How you start your day affects the rest of the day and so this small action could affect how you do things in other areas of your life. When you first wake up in the morning, set an intention to wake up and get going. This simple act will help you to move powerfully throughout the day.
A good app that I would recommend is the Spirit Junkie alarm clock to wake up in the morning. It has wonderful affirmations and it will set you up to wake up powerfully and intentionally. You can find it at http://gabbyb.tv/spirit-junkie-app
2. Practice Gratitude
Gratitude opens the floodgates of abundance into our lives. When you first wake up in the morning, start the day by acknowledging the gift of life and being appreciative for having another day to be alive. Start to practice gratitude on a daily basis. When you find yourself complaining about something remember that there is someone else in a worse position and simply give thanks. When we practice gratitude moment by moment, we develop a muscle that refrains from resentments, petty annoyances, anger, regret, complaints, and indignation.
By being grateful, we set ourselves up to receive more situations to be grateful for. The law of attraction will match us up with people and circumstances to be grateful for. Create a gratitude journal and write five things that you are grateful for every night before you go to bed. This simple act of journaling your gratitude will open doors for you to start receiving more blessings in your life than you ever imagined possible.
3. Practice Generosity
When we take attention from ourselves and focus on others our problems diminish significantly. Generosity brings blessings and prosperity. The more you give the more you will receive is a universal truth. In Proverbs 22:9 we are told that, “He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.”
Take attention from yourself and bless other people. You do not have to give money to be generous. You can offer your service. Offer to cut your neighbors yard or to babysit. Simply do something for another person that will make their day better.
When we are generous we spread love to others. Our generous acts bless other people. Make it a habit to do at least one generous act a day and without expecting anything in return. This simple act will create channels for you to be blessed with others as well.
4. Practice Flexibility
Flexibility allows others to be able to contribute to us and to bless our life. If we are too stubborn and unwilling to let go of our ways we could miss out on something that could make our life easier. In a storm, the trees that are willing to bend with the wind do not break; they simply bend until the storm passes. Practice flexibility and you will benefit from what others have to bring into your life.
Resisting change only causes pain and suffering. Everything changes, nothing remains the same. Practicing flexibility will prepare you to see new trends that are coming and accepting them without suffering. Flexibility allows us to see the value in other people’s ideas and contributions. It allows us to practice humility and make other people feel loved and valued as well.
5. Practice Absolute Faith
Practicing faith means letting go and trusting in a higher power than you. Practicing faith also means trusting the unknown. We cannot figure everything out for ourselves, sometimes we simply have to let go and trust that everything will work out for the best. When we stop figuring everything out, God will step in and guide us towards the most desirable action steps to take in order to be prosperous and successful.
When we cannot figure things out we need to practice faith. Faith works where knowledge fails. Hebrew 11:1 states that faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Trust that all your plans for 2014 will come true and they will. You may not have the knowledge as to how this will happen; practice absolute faith and you will be guided on which steps to take to make your dream and vision for 2014 come to pass.
Let go of worry and fear. Simply take the actions that you are being guided to and you will have a miraculous year.
6. Practice Self Love
Sometimes we take care of everybody else and forget to take care of ourselves. When you practice self love you will be able to see yourself fully and clearly by the actions you choose to take. If you are not taking time for yourself to rest, exercise, eat right you will be able to see these choices clearly and adjust them so you are nourishing yourself.
Take time to do things that benefit you such as self improvement classes, seminars and programs. Learn something new that will benefit you and move your dreams forward. Spend time alone to reconnect with your purpose. Envision yourself as successful. Surround yourself with positive people and positive images. Create a vision board with everything that you want to accomplish for 2014 and put it somewhere you can see it every day.
7. Get Active
Finally get active in all areas of your life and be consistent. I have to confess: I usually workout but I do not do it regularly. My goal for this year is to work out at least five times a week with my children. The first law of the universe is order. If I want to get consistent results I have to consistently workout; there has to be order in everything that I do.
Creating an orderly system of taking action ensures consistent results. To get consistent results we have to take consistent actions.
Get active in all areas of your life. Take consistent action steps to get the results that you want in your business, family life and your health. Most importantly strive to be healthy. Your health really is your wealth. Find a workout buddy and get active together.
I workout with my children; they help me to keep my word because I want to teach them to be responsible and follow through on what they say they will do. Find an accountability partner and help each other be accountable in different areas of your life.
